How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary tasks?
It was important to create a synergy when making all three of my products, as it means that the audience will establish a connection between the products, making them more intrigued and being able to recognise the products whether individually or separately.

colours
The first way I created synergy was through the colours. I wanted to portray the emotions of loneliness and isolation, so I featured blue, grey, and pale colours throughout all three products to create the isolated atmosphere. It was important to do this throughout all three products so that there was a consistency in the atmosphere that I was creating, which the audience could empathise with and understand the meaning behind the ancillary tasks after watching the music video. The colours were used to show the harsh and cold weathers that homeless people would have to endure, and they are symbolic of the solitude of her life. However, the bright vibrant blue of her eyes contrasts to the cold, empty blue that surrounds her. This is symbolic of how there is life still inside of her, and she is struggling against the things around her to stay alive. I therefore incorporated her eyes into my ancillary tasks, making it the main feature to represent how she survives at the end of the video despite the events she goes through before and throughout the music video.
imagery
Between my three products, I also thought that it was important for there to be a synergy between the imagery. By using similar images and framing in my products the audience will establish a connection between the three and be more likely to buy the product after becoming attached to the subject.
digipakdigipakThe imagery in my products largely features my subjects eyes. When filming I thought that it was important to show the subjects eyes, as not only did it allow me to be creative with my shots and use a range of angles and techniques, but it also meant that my audience could connect more to the subject. It is thought that the eyes are a gateway into a persons soul, and that within them you can see a persons emotions and the things that they have been through. I wanted my audience to know that my subject had endured a lot in her life, so that they could empathise with her, and at the end they would be sympathetic towards her as she feels that she cant journey on.

music video stillThere is a synergy between my digipak and music video where I have used outdoor scenery of nature. Both the video still and digipak panel are similar in the fact that they both feature trees, and both have an artistic lens flare that is popular in modern photography and cinematography.

digipakA location featured throughout all three of my products is the bath. It is where my narrative begins and ends, suggesting that my subject has come full circle. I therefore thought that it was a location that meant a lot to my character and decided to make it the main location featured in my poster and digipak
